Dr. Elsa Kirchner has led the extended team Sustained Interaction and Learning at the Robotics Innovation Centre of the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Bremen, Germany since 2016. Her academic background ranges from biology and behavioural physiology to developmental neurobiology and computer science. 
Her research interests focus on human-machine interaction, cognitive architectures, neuropsychology, and electrophysiological methods. She has authored more than 60 publications in international journals and conferences as well as seven book chapters.
