Prof. Dr. Tonio Ball is a distinguished researcher in the fields of neurotechnology and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) as the head of the "Neuromedical AI Lab" at the University Hospital in Freiburg, Germany. Additionally, he serves as a Visiting Professor at King's College London and is the Head of the clinical research area within the Cluster of Excellence BrainLinks-BrainTools at the University of Freiburg. Dr. Ball is also an entrepreneur, serving as the CEO of NeuroMentum AI GmbH. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including neurotechnology, bio-signal analysis, electroencephalography (EEG), deep learning for brain signals, and the applications of augmented and virtual reality in neuroscience. Dr. Ball's educational journey began with medical studies in Freiburg and Paris, followed by a successful career that includes a PostDoc fellowship at the Heidelberg Academy of Life Sciences and Humanities and a medical degree doctoral thesis. He obtained his habilitation in experimental neurosurgery in 2014.
